Project: Mapping the Environmental Impact of Generative AI

Abstract: While generative AI technologies are becoming increasingly pervasive in daily life, users often lack awareness regarding their true environmental footprints. As a result, we focus on mapping the global environmental cost/impact of AI development using automated text analysis, in hope to turn it into an interactive product to help individuals clearly see the sustainability challenge behind AI development and usage.
